About​

The Annual Hot Wheels Collector's Nationals began in 2001 as a spring option on the east side of the U.S., to balance the annual convention that was always on the west coast, usually in California. Special vehicles were painted by 3rd party companies and available at different events at the convention, including fundraisers and special "Hot Wheels Newsletter" cars.

2007: 7th Nationals, Dearborn, MI, April 25-29 

  • '65 Mustang Shelby GT350. MF Dark Blue with Yellow stripes. Only 3,000 made!
  • Custom Mustang. SF Dark Red with Neo Classic RL wheels. 10,000 made.

2008: 8th Nationals, Chicago, IL, April 23-27

  • ​Mustang Mach 1. Dinner car. 18 colors! Most common = Charcoal RRGYT wheels (600 made). Most rare = SF Gray (25) or SF Orange (unknown).

2009: 9th Nationals, Reston, VA, March 25-29

  • Custom Mustang . "Hot Wheels Newsletter" car. 16 colors! Most common = Light Blue RR wheels (425 made). Most rare = Chrome with white interior 5sprr wheels (16). Some other color productions are unknown.
  • '65 Mustang Fastback. Pearl White 

2010: 10th Nationals. St. Louis, MO. April 14-18

  • Mustang Mach 1. Dinner Car. 9 colors. Most common = Green (45). Most rare = Unpainted (21).

2011: 11th Nationals, Cincinnati, OH. April 13-17

  • '65 Mustang Fastback. Charity car. 8 colors. Most common = Red (200). Most rare = Purple, Dark Green, or Pink (44 each).

2012: 12th Nationals, Dearborn, MI, April 18-22

  • '69 Mustang, Charity car. Most common = red (170). Most rare = Dark green, yellow, or pink (50 each).  90 gold cars were made. This is one of them.

2013: 13th Nationals, Indianapolis, IN April 10-14

  • Mustang Boss Hoss. Car 3/4. Blue with Black roof. 1,000 made. Have not been able to find.
  • '67 Shelby GT500. Charity  car. White and MF Dark Green with red stripe and convention logo on roof. 1,500 made.
  • '65 Mustang Convertible. "Hot Wheels Newsletter" car. 325 in Pearl White, 30 in Pink, 25 in Red or Nickel, or 20 in MF Purple. Cannot find.
                     '67 Shelby GT500. Vehicle 1,414/1,500.

2014: 14th Nationals, Oak Brook, IL, April 2-6

  • '65 Ford Mustang. Dinner car. 360 in Red, 90 in Pink, Purple, Burnt Orange, or Green. Cannot find.
  • '65 Mustang Fastback. Chris Parker car. Red. Chrome plastic base, red interior, clear glass, "An Evening with Chris Parker" on trunk, Collector's Nationals logo on hood, Firestone RR tires, 5sp dark grey wheels.
Chris "HWC Chris" Parker '65 Mustang Fastback. He worked for Mattel on the hotwheelscollectors.com website and message board. Known to spray silly string at "vending machine" winners at conventions. 

2015: 15th Nationals, Lexington, KY March 25-29

  • '69 Ford Mustang Boss 302. Gold with large red running mustang on sides. Currently $425 and up online. Can't pull the plug on this. Yet.
